Where families find strength and children find home.

When Joe and Anne Rackley followed the call of God to establish the Roxie Anna Collins Home and Family Ministries, in 1980, the message was clear “If you want to make a difference serve children.” Over the years; our location changed, moving from the Rackley home to our current location off Keowee School Road, our name changed from Collins Children’s Home to Collins Family Ministries, and there have been many staff members and volunteers who have come and gone over the last 45 years.

With Mother’s Day recently, I wanted to share a special story from our founder, Anne Rackley, who shared it with me recently while I was blessed to spend time with her this week. Throughout our campus, and likely far beyond into all of Oconee County, she is lovingly known as “Mama” or “Mother Anne.” She has always been, and continues to be, such a beautiful example of motherly love to everyone who knows her well.

At Collins Family Ministries, our days bring both happiness and challenges. Sometimes, serving children, families, and at-risk youth feels like a lot to handle. If I had to do it alone, it would be too much. Thankfully, our team relies on the strength God gives us through Jesus and the Holy Spirit who lives in us (Eph 3:20-21).
