There Are No Small Roles

I must admit, I raised a theatre kid. I was always impressed by how she learned her lines, hit her cues, and did all the little things to bring her character to life. Watching her act taught me a lot about the joy of being part of a play, no matter how big or small the role is.

I never starred in a play like my daughter, but I was lucky to play team sports. Even though some players score most of the points, it takes everyone to win. Over time, I realized I might not play for the most minutes, but I could still help the team by working hard in practice.

“There are no small parts, only small actors.”
— Konstantin Stanislavski

This simple idea is true in life, especially in ministry and non-profit work. Everyone, no matter their talents or abilities, has a role in building a strong community.

Doing Our Part in Oconee County

For Oconee County to thrive, we all need to do our part. At Collins Family Ministries, we help families, children and at-risk youth who are facing tough times. Our job is to meet people where they are, without judging and encourage them to reach the next step in life.

Right now, children and families in our community need more support than ever. We are looking for people to serve as tutors for kids, life coaches for teens and family mentors to help parents build healthy relationships.

Rebuilding the Road

In the Old Testament, Isaiah said these prophetic words, “God says, “Rebuild the road! Clear away the rocks and stones so my people can return from captivity (Isa 57:14).” Thousands of years later, these words still ring true and it is time to rebuild the road!

At Collins, we invite you to play a grand role in seeing our community become a place where families can flourish. After all, there is no small role when it comes to seeing people reach their full potential.
