Walking With Them Every Step of the Way
Life at Collins Family Ministries is a testament to resilience and adaptability. We face unexpected challenges, delayed plans, and hard days, but we never let a difficult moment dampen our spirits. Serving at risk youth, children, and families means we must be ready at a moments notice to assist those who face significant needs, and we do so with unwavering determination.
Reflecting on all that God has done in the last twelve months, our Board, Staff, and Volunteers are united on the right path. Our collective effort is resulting in Gods blessing in incredible ways. It is not easy, but we are committed to forming a new way to serve those God places in our path.
Collins Family Ministries serves a diverse range of ages from birth to twenty five years old. Our children’s home currently accommodates children aged four to seventeen, and our SHINE program, which serves those who have aged out of foster care, supports individuals aged seventeen to twenty five. We also offer a range of family focused services for those in our community who are facing hardship. Our participants range from as young as three to as old as thirty four, reflecting the broad and inclusive impact of our ministry.
Each person we serve is unique and carries unique needs. Meeting those needs requires a team that loves Jesus first, loves others, and believes serving others is more important than any personal agenda. I believe this is what Paul meant when he said, “Do not be selfish, do not try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves” (Philippians 2:3).
The current need at Collins is great and stretches across every generation we have been called to serve. We are looking for volunteers who feel called to serve one on one with at risk youth. Your involvement as a life coach in our SHINE program, serving approximately three to four hours a week, can make a life changing difference for those seeking to transform their future. The SHINE program in particular has been instrumental in supporting those who have aged out of foster care, helping them step confidently into independent adulthood.
